Another web site of interest from my friend, Floyd . . .

I meant to share this a few months ago. My friend, Floyd, sent me info on a neat site called The Rifleman's Rifle.

TV, during my childhood, provided many studies in character, especially the old black and white westerns. I liked The Rifleman because Lucas McCain usually won (the good vs. evil thing), but he had to work hard for it. He had to work hard on his ranch. He had to work hard at being a good father. He had to work hard at being a good hero.

Maybe the lesson here is that the good / honorable things in life require hard work and sacrifice.

If you enjoy the old westerns, check out this web site.

I'm better than I deserve! ><>

Worth noting that 2 episodes of "The Rifleman" are shown daily on the Encore Westerns channel. This is a premium channel on most systems, but worth having if you like old westerns, both movies and series. Also anyone interested should be sure to watch the video on the website of a guy who has a rifle just like the one in the series. Very cool.

As a former police officer, trained in the use of combat firearms, I would be terrified to learn the cocking technique of twirling the rifle in a complete 360' circle.

I love to watch it . . . but I would "shoot my eye out."

Funny, that's exactly what my mom said when I got my first b-b gun.

Rick and Floyd,

I love you guys! Growing up, my favorite shows were The Adventures of Superman,The Lone Ranger and The Rifleman. There's plenty of websites devoted to the first two, but this is the first site I've seen feautring Lucas and his Old West adventures.

Glory be!

Don't you just miss the great musical intro's all the westerns.

The Rifleman - The High Chapparal - Gunsmoke - Branded (Chuck's other show) - Paladin . . .

And of course, the king of all western theme songs . . . The Lone Ranger!

I didn't have to know what time it was . . . I knew what was on when I heard the music!

Glory be! is right, Mark.

Opps! The loving wife just corrected me. It was not Paladin, but "Have Gun, Will Travel."

Ooohhhhh! Makes me want to go find some DVD specials.

Where are those John Wayne "B" movie DVD's I have around here somewhere. I need me a dose of Gabby Hayes!

Mike,

We don't just love it . . . we are salivating over it.

Keep up the good work. We appreciate you!

I don't feel dressed without having a pen, pencil and notebook with me!

I'm at the age where I pretty much know what I like to have with me in terms of every-day-carry.   I like 4"x6" sized notebook...
